Recycling and Green

Some of our clients have shown a keen interest in recycling by removing the waste bins from under each desk. Staff are tasked with placing their waste into larger central bins on each floor. Our cleaners then remove these bins daily and place their contents into the appropriate recycling areas outside the buildings. This has the benefit of reducing the number of plastic bin liners used – generally one per member of staff each day. In order that the scheme works and your staff are keen to comply, we can run a short induction seminar, advising them of the need to recycle their own disposable waste

We advise our clients to use paper cones rather than plastic cups at water machines, as these are better for the environment and can be easily recycled.

Eco-friendly products

We are often asked by our customers to use and provide eco-friendly products and we are thoroughly committed to being as environmentally friendly as possible. That isn’t to say that we just pay lip service to green issues. Sourcing the right products requires vigilant research. So-called green chemicals can cause concern, as more product needs to be used in order to gain the same effect as the “non-green” product. This has an effect on costs, so we have opted for materials and consumables which are biodegradable, environmentally acceptable and ozone friendlynot specifically “green”. In fact our mission statement is that we deliver the highest standard of office cleaning with a sensitive appreciation of the environmental impact we make.

Environmental impact audit

It is company policy to carry out an audit of all the cleaning products that we use and we are always happy to discuss our reasons for choosing one product over another. We check the provenance of our products carefully.

Innovations

We are constantly on the look-out for more advanced, effective yet eco-friendly products and are constantly testing the following:

Microfibre

The revolutionary system of Microfibre cleaning allows:

  • The ability to clean more surface area in less time and with guaranteed hygiene standards

  • Superior cleaning results, including effective bacteria removal

  • Optimised use of daily cleaning chemicals

Unlike traditional mops and cloths, microfibres collect and trap the dirt to leave surfaces cleaner and more hygienic.  When dry, microfibres attract dust and dirt. When damp or wet, dirt and bacteria are picked up by capillary action. After cleaning with Microfibre cloths, there was a complete removal of MRSA at Whipps Cross Hospital in London.

Backpack Vacuums

In order to allow greater accessibility for staff, lightweight, low-noise backpack vacuums with an ergonomically designed harness are becoming widely used in the cleaning industry. They are proving highly effective in crowded and congested environments.
